Five spice powder is used in many recipes in South East Asia such as for Cantonese roasted duck or beef stew. It can be used as a marinade for Vietnamese broiled chicken or as a spice rub on chicken, duck, pork or seafood as well as a spice for fried meat menus.
There are many variations of five spice powder, it may contain the mix of five ingredients (star anise, cloves, fennel, cinnamon or orange peel, ginger root or galangal, nutmeg, Sichuan pepper)
