Satay

Satay is a very popular food in Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries as well. It is grilled meat in which bamboo skewers are often used to grill over a charcoal fire, then served with various dipping sauces, usually with peanut sauce. The meat for Satay could be chicken, pork and beef. For example: Pork Satay with 2 dipping sauces and toasted sandwich bread.

Or Chicken Satay was grilled in the oven before putting bamboo sticks.

The side dishes could be a peanut sauce, cucumber in rice vinegar with shallots and toasted/grilled bread.

Satay marinade spices mix looks like this :

Ingredients are:

Coriander seed
Cumin
Dried Glucose Syrup
Fenugreek
Mustard
Salt
Sugar
Turmeric
 
For the peanut sauce, you can use satay dipping sauce powder like this:

Ingredients are:

Chilli powder
Glucose
Kaffir lime leaves
Lemongrass
Malic acid (apples)
Onion powder
Peanut
Salt
Soy sauce powder
Sugar

or use the mix of crushed peanuts and curry powder mix cooked with coconut milk or use the satay paste (see image below).

Chilli oil
Mustard
Peanut
Red chilli
Soybean oil
