People say when you are at a loss or tiresome of something, you should go somewhere for the adventure of being away, try something new in life. A choice that it is not hard to make is driving into the mid forest where no wifi exists in search of the natural treasure in the forest? How about just hiking into the green forest, sort of wilderness, an untamed river running along the rocky path. Is that something for your new adventure? If so, let's venture into wilderness in search of the swedish national treasure:
The entrance of Fulufjällets national park of Sweden is somewhat confusing tourists. Maybe it is intended to be hard to find because many people and visitors are there for digging treasure at the Njupeskär waterfall?
Our suggestion is to drive to the town called "Mörkret", then follow the sign that leads to national park. In fact, the signs appear everywhere in the neighbouring area that lead you there, but not to the main entrance:
There are two hiking paths to reach the waterfall. One goes to steep rocky path, harsh terrains, but shorter way to walk:
At the beginning, the pathway looked as if it is made for people with the wheel chairs. The wooden pathway leads you to this swampy area of national park where you could enjoy the view, then split into two directions:
The path on the right is certainly not suitable for them because it gets steeper, unless people with wheel chairs can roll on big rocks and people with sticks can walk on the natural steep rocky pathway. The other path would be more convenient for them. If you go on the steep pathway, you will see the little pond, you may have a break there:
The natural seating by the river could be relaxing, especially in summer:
The other path is comfortable to walk up and down, but it may take longer time to walk. Either way, you will surely reach the waterfall called "Njupeskär"- the highest waterfall of Sweden in the Fulufjället national park. Here is the map starting from the car parking lot:
Once you see this view, it is a half way of the hike:
The only shelter or restaurant where you can get a cup of coffee and have a break there:
Before you go on, check the sign which direction you should walk further. One path leads to an abys, so watch your steps. But it's worth walking there, as it is a nice spot where you can take this photo:
Continue walking until you reach the bridge (in the center of image) :
It is the connection of two paths at the end to reach your final destination, the waterfall! Interestingly, the walking path is changed to be a wooden path again:
Before you walk carefully and closely to the waterfall, you should read some signs and info. From here, you still can see the waterfall in front of you:
This is the end of wooden path, if you plan to walk on the rocky path to take pictures with waterfall at the closest point, you need to wear proper shoes. Keep in mind that stone is sharp! In winter, you can do ice climbing when the waterfall freezes. In summer, people go hiking:
Happy hike, happy life!
